### BLOCKED SINUS ### SINUS BLOCK >> Xopenex for a 3-year-old?

My son has a double ear infection, sinus infection, and bronchitis. In addition to an antibiotic, antihistime, and Pulmicort, the doctor has him on Xopenex.

First, I suspect the Xopenex is making him very wound-up/hyper. He grits his teeth and spins himself into a fury. It’s almost scary. A close friend who is a nurse suggested the Xopenex as the cause.

I went on the manufacturer’s website and it says there that this med is not yet approved by the FDA for kids under 6, and they are still studying whether it is safe for use by that age group. I am horrified! Can I just omit this from his treatment altogether?

The pedi that prescribed it ticked me off years ago, but we only saw her because no one else was available for an appointment.
